The
origins of our present "Aixerrota" Secondary School
are to be traced back to the year 1998, which resulted from
the merging of two former schools that coexisted on adjacent
premises: on the one hand the "Getxo3" Baccalaureate
High School, which opened its doors as far back as 1979, and
the "Aixerrota" Polytechnic on the other, created
in 1983 in its turn. As you can see, our school takes its name
from this latter one.
Since
the merging in 1998, all subjects in "Aixerrota BHI"
are taught in Basque, except for the Spanish, English and French
language lessons. Studies range from the Compulsory Secondary
Education (ages 12-16), and onto the Baccalaureate Studies (ages
17-18).
"Aixerrota"
school is located in the rural quarters of Getxo, onlooking
the Bay of Biscay. Since 2001, we operate under the dictates
of our own Educational Project.
